The President of the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Godswill Akpabio and the leadership of NASS has been called upon to prevail on President Bola Tinubu to reverse government policy on foreign exchange, as part of measures to reduce inflation and hardship in the country.*
The call was contained in a statement by a youth pressure group, Delta Youth Peace and Development Initiative, DYPDI) on Wednesday in Asaba, and signed by Delta North Coordinator, Comrade Friday Odabi, Delta Central Coordinator, Comrade Malcolm Onajite Tagbarha, and Delta South Coordinator, Comrade Christian Otuwho.*
The group also appealed to youths in Delta State not to participate in the Hardship National Protest scheduled to take place from August 1 to 10th, saying that protest will not solve the problem of hunger, but rather, it would cause further hardship as hoodlums and criminals are warming up to hijack the protest to loot shops and destroy property in the state.*
