In a recent development, agents from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have taken action by sealing off the residence of former Kogi State governor, Yahaya Bello, located in Wuse, Abuja.
Reportedly, the EFCC’s move came shortly after Bello’s meeting with President Bola Tinubu at the State House, according to sources from SaharaReporters.
The house, situated on Benghazi Street, Wuse Zone 4, is currently under tight security measures, with no movements permitted in its vicinity. Images captured the scene as EFCC operatives blocked access to the premises.
Although the specific reasons for the EFCC’s intervention remain undisclosed, it is speculated to be linked to the ongoing investigation into an alleged ₦84 billion fraud case involving the former governor.
The EFCC had previously brought charges against Bello, alleging misappropriation of funds totaling ₦84 billion. In an amended charge, it was claimed that Bello diverted ₦80 billion of state funds in September 2015, months before assuming office.
