KEBBI CELEBRATES FIRST FEMALE JUSTICE OF COURT OF APPEAL.

Justice Zainab Bage Abubakar has become the first indigenous female judge in Kebbi state, to reached the position of the Justice of the Court of Appeal.
Justice Zainab was among the twenty one Justices in the nation’s judiciary, elevated to the Court of Appeal by the National Judicial Service Commission (NJC) and recently swoned-in by the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN).
She is the fourth and the first female on the list of the elevated Justices.
To celebrate the historic promotion and give glory to Allah SWT, the family, friends, associates and professional colleagues organised a special Walimat yesterday, at her Gesse one residence, Birnin Kebbi.
Among the dignitaries that attended the occasion was the former Chief Judge of Kebbi State, Justice Suleiman Muhammadu Ambursa who reminded her of the challenges of the judiciary in a democratic dispensation.
Justice Ambursa said although he has no doubt in her capacity, professional competence and strict adherence to the rule of law,the nation’s judiciary was being dragged in to politics with a view to manipulating and influencing Courts judgements.
He further expressed his confidence in justice Zainab’s unquestionable sincerity and character and optimistic that her elevation to the Supreme Court in no distance future.
Other dignitaries that spoke at the occasion includes Wazirin Gwandu Alhaji Umar Waziri, the state Grand Khadi Sheikh Sadiq Usman Mukhtar, Sheikh Mainasara Birnin Kebbi, Sheikh Abubakar Suru and Mallam Sani Aliyu Zuru the Kebbi State Commissioner of religious Affairs. They all advised the justice of the court of Appeal to always be concious of the need to do justice to all maner of people with the strong belief that she will be accountable to Allah SWT, hereafter.
Earlier in his welcome address, the husband of the new Zuru- born justice of the Court of Appeal Alhaji Usman Abubakar Gwandu thanked all those that responded to his invitation in order to share with him and the family, the joy of the God’s destined elevation and solicited for prayers for continous Allah’s guidance and protection for justice Zainab Bage Abubakar in the discharge of her sensitive responsibility.
Other prominent personalities that attended the Walimat includes the former Heads of the state civil service Alhaji Ahmed Bunza, Alhaji Abubakar Udu Idris mni Dallatun Gwandu. Alhaji Abubakar Chika Ladan (Barden Gwandu), a former Permanent Secretary Alhaji Shu’aibu Abdullahi,the former permanent Secretary of the Goverment House Alhaji Aliyu Gwandu, Alhaji Hassan Baba Zuru and Dr Abdullahi Mungadi of Kebbi State University of Science and Technology were also at the event.
