Ace music video director ThankGod Jesam, popularly known as TG Omori, has assured his fans that he plans to return to directing music videos in 2025 following his recent health struggles.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter) on August 27, TG Omori announced that he had undergone a kidney transplant, with his brother donating one of his kidneys. Unfortunately, the transplant was unsuccessful, prompting Omori to ask for prayers from his supporters and fellow Nigerians. He expressed gratitude for the attempt, stating, “Went into this theater three times, wasn’t just destined to die today.”
Two days later, he provided an update, saying he was feeling better despite the setback. He expressed optimism about his recovery, saying, “Up and grateful, O Lord. (Sadly, I can’t backflip). Thank you all for the prayers and well wishes. I’m healing now from the stitches of the failed one; I’ll continue the fight, been on it for the past year or two, and I can’t back down now. Love y’all so much. Can’t wait to make new crowded music videos for y’all.”
In a series of tweets on September 23, he conveyed his determination to overcome the pain, stating, “It’s mind over matter. If the mind is defeated, it’s just a matter of time before the body falls. Pain has no power over me.” He reaffirmed his commitment to returning to his craft, saying, “Hope these designers cover these scars. I’ll be back in 2025. Stay in love!”
The 29-year-old director has collaborated with numerous A-list artists, including Wizkid, Burna Boy, Olamide, Kizz Daniel, and Falz. His accolades include Best Music Video Director of the Year at the City People Entertainment Awards in 2019, AFRIMMA Best Music Video Director of the Year in 2020, and The Headies Best Music Video Director of the Year in 2022, among other nominations.
