The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Kaduna State Command announced the arrest of 110 suspects and the seizure of 520.385 kilograms of illicit substances in May.
Commander Samaila Danmalam revealed that the arrests included 105 males and five females. The seized substances comprised cocaine, Indian hemp, Tramadol, and Methamphetamine.
In addition to these arrests and seizures, the NDLEA dismantled 10 illicit drug joints in the state. During May, the command secured the conviction of 12 suspects and arraigned 22 others.
Danmalam highlighted the agency’s efforts in drug demand reduction through numerous sensitization programs across the state, aiming to educate the public on the dangers of drug use and illicit trafficking. These programs also included the counseling and rehabilitation of drug-dependent individuals.
He urged the public to avoid involvement in drug-related activities and to provide timely information to support the agency’s efforts in combating drug trafficking in Kaduna.
