Justice Eberechi Suzzette Nyesom-Wike, the wife of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, was officially sworn in as a Justice of the Court of Appeal on Wednesday. The ceremony, conducted by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, took place at the Supreme Court complex in Abuja. Naija News reports that alongside Mrs. Wike, 21 other Justices were also sworn in during the event.
The Director of Press and Information of the Supreme Court, Festus Akande, had confirmed the swearing-in ceremony in a statement on Tuesday, indicating that it would be held in the main courtroom of the Supreme Court.
The newly appointed Justices include Abdullahi Liman (Nasarawa State), Abiodun Akinyemi (Ogun State), Olukayode Adeniyi (Oyo State), Zainab Abubakar (Kebbi State), Isaa Sani (Kaduna State), Lateef Lawal-Akapo (Lagos State), Ngozika Okaisabor (Imo State), Donatus Okorowo (Enugu State), Ruqayat Ayoola (Kogi State), Polycarp Kwahar (Benue State), Fadawa Umaru (Borno State), Oyewumi Oyebiola (Oyo State), Ntong Ntong (Akwa Ibom State), Nehizena Afolabi (Edo State), and Nnamdi Dimgba (Abia State).
Other Justices who took their oaths include Abdu Dogo (Federal Capital Territory, Abuja), Abdulazeez Anka (Zamfara State), Owibunkeonye Onwosi (Ebonyi State), Asma’u Akanbi-Yusuf (Kwara State), Victoria Toochukwu Nwoye (Anambra State), and Enenche Eleojo (Kogi State).
