The Nigerian Senate announced on Tuesday that it had lifted the suspension on Senator Abdul Ningi from Bauchi Central and recalled him to resume legislative duties. Senator Ningi had been suspended for three months following his allegation of a ₦3.7 trillion padding of the 2024 budget.
The decision to lift the suspension came after a period of deliberation and review by the Senate. Senator Ningi’s return signifies a resolution of the disciplinary action taken against him.
