“Nyesom Wike Allocates N280 Million for Scholarships to Indigent Students in Abuja”

FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has allocated N280.3 million to provide scholarships for 13,946 indigent students across all levels of education in Abuja.

The announcement was made by Danlami Hayyo, the Mandate Secretary of the Education Secretariat, during the inauguration of the accelerated rehabilitation of 19 public schools in Gwagwalada.

Mr. Hayyo emphasized that the allocated funds would cater to both new and existing indigent beneficiaries in various schools and educational levels to ensure inclusivity and accessibility to education.

In addition to scholarships and school rehabilitation, the minister has revitalized the school sports festival, which had been dormant for 25 years.

The goal of rehabilitating public schools is to create a conducive learning environment and foster educational excellence. This initiative aims to provide students and teachers with access to quality facilities, thereby enhancing the overall educational experience.

Mr. Hayyo highlighted the minister’s unwavering commitment to the holistic development of future leaders, emphasizing the importance of laying a strong foundation for the aspirations of young individuals.

He reaffirmed the government’s dedication to ensuring that every child in the FCT has equal access to quality education and a safe learning environment conducive to growth, prosperity, and leadership development.
