Senator Adeseye Ogunlewe asserts that Nigerian politics is not inclusive of the poor, discussing the leadership race in the 10th National Assembly on Arise Television’s Morning Show.During an interview on Arise Television’s Morning Show, Senator Adeseye Ogunlewe reiterated his previous statement that Nigerian politics is primarily reserved for the wealthy. He emphasized that without sufficient financial resources, individuals from a lower socioeconomic background would struggle to make any progress in politics. According to Ogunlewe, a poor person aspiring to become a senator or the President of the Senate would face significant challenges due to the financial demands of the political arena.In explaining how politics functions in Nigeria, Senator Adeseye Ogunlewe emphasized the importance of having a strong financial foundation. According to him, individuals who aspire to become senators in the country must possess substantial financial resources and stability. He expressed his belief that no person who attains a senatorial position in Nigeria is impoverished, asserting that financial means are a crucial factor in the pursuit of a political career.
