Phyna Advocates for Mandatory DNA Tests After Birth
Winner of Big Brother Naija’s ‘Level Up’ edition, Josephine Otabor, known as Phyna, has voiced her opinion on the ongoing DNA test debate in Nigeria. The conversation intensified after Nigerian music executive Don Jazzy suggested that DNA tests should take priority over naming ceremonies to combat rising cases of paternity fraud.
In a post on X, Phyna aligned with Don Jazzy’s view, calling for DNA tests to be made compulsory right after childbirth. She wrote, “I support DNA test over naming ceremony. It should be passed that it is compulsory. Immediately after birth, a DNA test should be carried out.”
Phyna’s statement comes amid public discussions on paternity verification, as the country grapples with allegations of fraudulent practices.
In a separate post, Phyna also accused a police officer of stealing N3,000 from her during a stop-and-search in Lagos. She claimed the money disappeared from her pigeonhole, asserting that she had not handed it to the officer.

Popular Nigerian disc jockey and billionaire heiress, DJ Cuppy, has opened up once again about her desire to get married.
The music star revealed that seeing wedding photos online often prompts her to remind God that she’s still single. Sharing a photo of herself with her hand raised in what looked like a moment of worship, she wrote on X:
“When I see wedding photos online and I start reminding God… again.”
