Reps Pass Bill to Effect Minimum Wage of N70,000

The House of Representatives has passed a bill to increase the minimum wage for workers from the current N30,000 to N70,000,.

It will be recalled that the bill had earlier been presented to the House by President Bola Tinubu even as he had also reduces the consideration period for a new minimum wage from five to three years in the country.

The House had expeditiously passed of the bill to ensure immediate implementation, as requested by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

the House, had equally passed the amended Police Act, which includes a new subsection allowing the Inspector-General of Police to serve until the end of their appointed term, as stipulated in their letter of appointment.

Members who spoke during plenary commended President Tinubu for his readiness to improve on the welfare and wellbeing of Nigerians.
