Nigerian music icon Ayodeji Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, has stirred up social media with subtle critiques aimed at industry heavyweights such as Don Jazzy and fellow artist Davido.

The controversy began with a series of tweets where Wizkid responded to a fan’s mention of comments made by artist Ladipo. Wizkid’s retort, “Imagine me, Wizkid, engaging with someone signed under an ‘influencer’ like Don Jazzy. No way!” sparked intense online debate.

Speculation mounts that Wizkid’s remarks could be part of a strategic move ahead of a new music release. Some fans jokingly suggested that Burna Boy should intervene and “take control of Wizkid’s phone” to prevent further controversial statements.

Adding fuel to the fire, Wizkid continued engaging with his followers. He candidly expressed his daily frustrations, saying, “Every day I get things to say but my mouth no good.” When encouraged to channel these thoughts into new music, his response, “Is it by force?” sparked more banter.

In an unexpected twist, Wizkid asked fans to beg him for new music, referencing a viral crying video of Davido. This exchange raised eyebrows and fueled speculation about the nature of Wizkid and Davido’s relationship.

Despite their apparent camaraderie in December 2023, where Davido announced Wizkid’s upcoming album, this recent exchange suggests a complex, possibly competitive relationship, perceived by some as harmless banter.

Amidst these interactions, Wizkid also expressed admiration for Prophet Odumeje, a Nigerian celebrity pastor and musician, adding another layer to his unexpected social media activity.
