There are reports indicating that the  Caretaker Chairman for Otukpo Local Government Council, Ijachi Ude, may have been among those who were yesterday shot in a crisis that erupted at Ondo Ugboju, which later spread to Ogobia Ugboju all of Otukpo Local Government Area, in the Southern Senatorial District where a rerun is fixed for this weekend by the Independent Electoral Commission(INEC).
This development was confirmed today by Hon. Okloho Adams,  member representing Adoka/Ugboju at the State House Of Assembly, following a fact-finding to the area.
The member who had visited the area in company of  Dickson Akor, Special Assistant to the Benue State Governor on Special Duties, however said  the Caretaker Chairman was been taken to an undisclosed hospital for treatment.
Three persons were however not lucky as they were said to have been killed in the crisis. It was gathered that those killed in the crisis were; Okwoche Omale, Andrew Adaji and Audu Okopi, with several houses also torched and burned to the ground.
Another report suggests that three police men and a supervisory councillor, were also killed in the crisis.
Eyewitnesses according said , the crisis was triggered by a disagreement between the caretaker Chairman, an  All Progressive Congress (APC), and his younger brother, Eje Ude of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
However, Johnson Ahubi, who represents  Otukpo/Akpa in the state House of Assembly, at a media briefing Wednesday, told newsmen that the crisis was fuelled by some supporters of the ruling APC.
