EYM Congratulates Senator Ovie Omo Agege As Deputy Senate President.

Esan Youths Movement (EYM), a sociocultural development organization of Esan people of South South Nigeria has congratulated Senator Ovie Omo Agege, on his election as the Deputy Senate President of the 9th Senate.

Senator Omo Agege representing Delta Central Senatorial District of Delta State was on Tuesday elected as Deputy Senate Present.

The statement which was signed by the present of the movement , Comrade Kingsley Ohens, gave the congratulatory message on Tuesday in Ekpoma on behalf of the Esan Youths Movement.

Ohens said, “Omo Agege is the second person from the South South Region of Nigeria to occupy such an exalted position in the country after Dennis Chukwudi Osadebe under NCNC from 1960 to 1963″.

He called on Nigerians, especially people of the South South region irrespective of their religious, political and tribal affiliations, to pray for President Mohammadu Buhari and other leaders so that they could bring the desired change to the country.

According to him, ” Buhari’s led administration needed prayers to enable it win its war against insurgency and restore the lost glory of the country”.

” I appealed to those who contested against Omo Agege during the election to shun sentiment and pray for the success of the leadership during their tenure.”

Ohens used the medium to congratulate the South South people for their son’s new elevation and urged the Senator to use the exalted office to better the lot of South South people through the enactment of people oriented laws that will attract development to the region.” he said.
