Jail Me If You Have Evidence Of Curruption in CBN Under Buhari, Activist Dares Critics

Foremost right activists and anti-corruption crusader, Rev Solomon Semaka has challenged critics of the President Muhammadu Buhari administration with evidence of corrupt practices at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to take it up with the aim to sending him to jail.

Semaka who heads the Anti Curruption Vanguard Nigeria (ACVAN) spoke on oath during the occasion of public presentation of copies of a verifying affidavit deposed to by him to the effect that, the CBN in the last five years is the most transparent government institution with no cases of fraud and corruption under the current leadership.

According to the affidavit, Semaka maintained that President Buhari’s administration has ensured the most accountable and policy oriented economic growth in the last five years as driven by the CBN and challenged any Nigerian with contrary views to also swear an affidavit to prove his case.

“The CBN under the current leadership does not panic, it does not run away from responsibility, it does not get frightened, it is always taking charge with courage and grit to save the economy.

“This is because Mr President has given the CBN a free hand to explore unlike what was obtained in the previous administrations. We have been at the forefront of institutionalizing due process, and we are proud that the CBN is driving the process by putting critical and sustainable reforms in place for the benefit of the Nigerian economy.

This statement on oath is a symbolic demonstration of trust in President Buhari administration’s anti corruption crusade. It is also a clarion call to other executives, to show that if you work well, credible organizations and individuals will rise in your defense during times of trouble and travails”.
