Survey reveals children’s rather surprising dream jobs

Once upon a time children wished to become medical doctors, lawyers, engineers, pilots, astronaut and the likes. Now it is rather surprising what children wish to become and we are quite sure social media is a major influence of this change in children’s dream jobs.

A survey revealed that most children, especially boys want to become Youtube stars. However, more girls are interested in pursuing a career in science, according to research from family activities app Hoop.

A survey of 1,000 children under the age of 16 indicated that other popular careers for girls included teaching and nursing, while for boys, football and the police came top.

Max Jennings, co-founder of Hoop, said:

“It’s great to see scientist making it into the list for girls for the first time.

Career influences come from a number of .s, and the push on STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) activity within schools has clearly had a huge impact”.
