Unity of Nigeria should be top most-IBB

BY MAIRIGA Juliana, Minna.

Former Nigerian Military President, General Ibrahim Babangida has called on politicians to work towards keeping and maintaining the unity of Nigeria intact, saying unless the country is united, it cannot achieve much of development.

He was speaking at his Hill Top Residence in Minna when he received a Presidential Aspirant under the People’s Democratic Party, Mallam Kabiru Turaki.

General Babangida said the unity of Nigeria remains Paramount and that all politicians must put the unity of the country in mind while pursuing their political ambition.

He wished Tanimu Turaki well in his pursuit saying he endorses his agenda for the country which he outlined in his speech, calling on him not to deviate from the plan.

Meanwhile, the PDP Presidential aspirant, Kabiru Turaki, has berated the ruling All Progressives Congress for fueling the division of Nigeria.

He said there is retrogression in the fight against Boko Haram as the APC government is only spending money in security but no results

He also faulted the APC government for handling the current farmers-herders crises rocking the middlebelt and zamfara with levity

He reiterated the recent position of General Theophilus Danjuma on the compromise by the Nigerian Military which has led many Nigerians to resort to self defence

Kabiru Tanimu also accused the APC of silencing the judiciary by embarking on unreasonable prosecution if judges in the name of fighting corruption saying that act succeeded in gagging the judiciary

He described President Buhari’s resistance to change his security chiefs despite outcry from the members of the public, as an act of irresponsibility

He said PDP is the only party that can restore peace and progress back to the country as the APC has failed in galvanizing the country towards economic growth. END
