The Management of Wikki Tourists Football Club of Bauchi has confirmed the recruitment of 18 new players in preparation for the 2017 /2018 premier League season.
This was contained in a press release made available to sports Journalists in Bauchi and signed by the clubs media officer Bala Usman Kurba.
According to the statement the 18 players signed followed proposal sent to the management of the team by the technical Adviser of the club Bala Nikyu which was later approved by the Management before making it public.
The newly signed players according to the media officer are Zakka Bala from Kano Pillars, Nafiu Kabuka from Kano Pillars, Chima Ndukwu from Plateau United, Onouha Chukwujekwu from Remo stars, Muktari Ali Kwura from Kano Pillars, and Gabriel Jeremah from Niger Tornadoes.
Others are Nura Ibrahim from Kano Pillars, Joseph Ujah from Lobi stars, Samuel Kalu from Zoo United, Mustapha Abdullahi from Sports Light, Joshua Abah from Jigawa Golden Stars, Emmanuel Agwu from Tonnal SC Japan, Abubakar Umar from Abia Warriors and Pius Ibrahim from Kano Pillars.
Emeka Onyia from Mighty Jet, Abdulwahab Bidemi from Katsina United Fasomni Olaniyi from Sunshine Stars and Chibundu Ama from Jaya Rock FC also made the list.
While responding through phone, the General Manager of the state darling team, Awwalu Baba Jada said the management is satisfied with the caliber of these 18 new players which he said are tested and experienced which was why the management did not wasted any time in approving the technical crew proposal of the players.
He said “Already we have entered into agreement with all the players both old and new what is left now is to commence full preparation before the start of the league proper which we believe our outing this season will be fruitful”.
The Wikki Tourists Boss used this opportunity to call on supporters of the club and all stakeholders in football development in the state to partner with the management with prayers and shown all forms of hooliganism when the team is playing at home to avoid tarnishing the good name of the state as peaceful, peal of tourism, home of hospitality and as Mecca of Sports in Nigeria.
