Bobrisky sentenced to six months in prison

During the proceedings, the judge inquired about Bobrisky’s gender, to which he promptly stated that he identifies as a man. The judge determined that the imprisonment would begin from March 24, 2024, the date of Bobrisky’s arrest.

Bobrisky had previously pleaded guilty to charges brought against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for the abuse of the Naira currency. The conviction was handed down on April 5.

The sentencing, initially scheduled for last Thursday, was postponed due to a public holiday declared by the Federal government for the Eid-l-fitri celebration.

The charges against Bobrisky included instances of tampering with Naira notes during social events held at various locations. These actions contravened the Central Bank Act of 2007, leading to the convictions and subsequent sentencing.
