In a poignant message, Senior Pastor Adewale Giwa of the Awaiting The Second Coming of Christ Ministry has sounded an alarm regarding the unparalleled economic hardship faced by Nigerians. The clergyman specifically directed his plea to President Bola Tinubu, urging prompt action to alleviate the situation, stating that Nigerians have not encountered such economic challenges in the past 70 years.
Pastor Giwa appealed to President Tinubu’s administration to find solutions to the widespread hunger and economic difficulties, making life increasingly unbearable for citizens. During a special Thanksgiving service in Akure, Ondo State, where the cleric expressed gratitude for surviving a serious motor accident the previous year, he emphasized the impact of fuel subsidy removal on inflation in the country.
The clergyman called upon politicians, philanthropists, and the affluent to extend urgent assistance to the less privileged, enabling them to cope with the current economic hardships. He stressed the need for divine intervention, urging Nigerians to intensify their prayers and draw closer to God in the face of mounting challenges.
Expressing concern over the plight of the poor, Pastor Giwa urged philanthropists and politicians to recognize the suffering of the downtrodden and take action. Additionally, he emphasized the importance of unity and collective prayer for the progress of the state and the nation.
During the thanksgiving service, Chief Olusola Oke, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), echoed the call for collaboration among religious leaders, youths, and individuals from all walks of life to address the challenges facing Ondo State and the nation. Oke emphasized the significance of diverse perspectives and good-hearted individuals in finding lasting solutions to the state’s problems and advancing the nation’s development.
