Depot NA Zaria inaugurates 5001 recruits for 81 Regular Recruits

The Depot Nigerian Army, Zaria, has inaugurated 5,001 recruits for the 81 Regular Recruit Intake (RRI) to strengthen the forces and enhance national security.

The Commandant, Depot Nigerian Army (NA), Brig.-Gen. Aminu Chinade, inaugurated the recruits on Friday in Zaria, adding that the inauguration of recruits and trainees has been an existing tradition in Nigerian Army.

Chinade added that the inauguration signifies the official induction and commencement of a training circle and courses in Depot Nigerian Army and Nigerian Armed Forces institution at large.

“A total number of 5,001 recruits were inaugurated as members of 81RRI who were successful candidates of the just concluded 81 RRI Tradesmen and Women selection and final screening at various states screening centres and subsequently at Falgore Forest Kano,’’ he said.

The commandant said that the recruits would be taught the essentials of soldiering which include Physical and Endurance Training, Unarmed Combat and Weapon Handling.

He said they would also be taught Basic Field Craft, Minor Tactics, Drill, Counter-Terrorist training, First Aid and Field Hygiene, Military Regimentation, Spiritual Obligation, Military Laws and Special Forces Training, among others.

The commandant urged the recruits to be of good conduct as well as abide by laid down rules of the institution which formed part of the inaugural oath administered by the Adjutant Depot NA,  Capt. M. Momodu.

Chinade also implored them to refrain from any form of malingering or absenteeism as the training curriculum set, was one of the best avenues to achieving their objective of becoming professional soldiers for Nigeria Army.
