In a firm address to newly admitted Part-Time students, Professor Edward Olanipekun, the Vice-Chancellor of Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti, emphasized the pivotal roles of discipline and academic excellence. He warned against indiscipline and laziness, affirming the university’s commitment to maintaining a conducive environment for diligent scholars.
Represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Professor Babatola Ayodele, the Vice-Chancellor highlighted the success stories of EKSU alumni who had excelled in their careers after completing the Part-Time program. He underscored the importance of commitment, character, and determination in achieving academic and professional success.
Addressing the gathering at the New Faculty of the Social Sciences Twin Hall, Bode Olofinmuagun, the Head of the Directorate of Information & Corporate Affairs, echoed the Vice-Chancellor’s message. He urged the fresh students to uphold the university’s standards of excellence and to avoid behaviors that could hinder their progress.
During the matriculation ceremony, led by the Registrar of the University, Mr. Ife Oluwole, the matriculants took the solemn Matriculation Oath, symbolizing their official admission into the academic community of EKSU. The Registrar emphasized the significance of the oath in committing the students to uphold the values and principles of the institution.
The event, attended by Principal Officers, Deans of Faculties, Directors, and other dignitaries, served as a formal induction into the academic journey for the new students. It reinforced the university’s dedication to fostering a culture of academic excellence and personal development among its student body.
