Zulum, Bakari Pledge To Strengthen Nigeria/Cameroun Trade Relations.

Borno State Governor, Prof Babagana Umara Zulum and his counterpart from the far North Region of Cameroon, Midjinyawa Bakari, have commissioned the Banki International market and a teachers’ quarters.
The two leaders equally laid the foundation for a new cattle market in Banki town.
Governors Zulum and Bakari had recently visited Banki town in Bama Local Government Area of Borno State, at which Governor Bakari led a high-powered delegation from Cameroun on the visit to Banki

Governor Zulum, while allocating shops and stalls to beneficiaries of the newly constructed market, encouraged them to be self-reliant and focused on their activities. He also expressed gratitude to the Presidents of Nigeria and Cameroon for their support.

Governor Midjinyawa Bakari of the Far North Region of Cameroon praised Governor Zulum for his commitment to grassroots development and appreciated the warm welcome extended to them. He also expressed eagerness to work together with the Borno State Government.

Engr Lawan Abba Wakilbe, the Honourable Commissioner of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation and Chairman of Bama Phase II Reconstruction Committee, delivered a welcome address, highlighting the significance of the occasion and extending a warm welcome to the Cameroonian delegation.

In his goodwill message, HRH Alh Dr Umar ibn Kyari Umar El-Kanemi, the Shehu of Bama, expressed appreciation to Governor Zulum and the Governor of the Far North Region of Cameroon for reopening and commissioning the Banki International market and teachers quarters. He also commended the foundation-laying for the new cattle market.

The visit by Governor Zulum and the Cameroon delegation is a significant step towards strengthening bilateral relations and promoting economic development in the region. The projects commissioned and the foundation-laying mark important milestones in the efforts to revitalize the local economy and provide better facilities for the people of Banki town.
