In less 72 hours after suspected Boko) Haram terrorists attacked the officials of the Borno state government on their way to Bags from Monguno, where 12 police men, 13 civilians and 5 soldiers were reportedly killed, the militant again ambushed the convoy while returning home between Monguno and Maiduguri on Sunday.
Monguno is in the northern Borno where activities of terrorists continued to put pressure on government forces trying to bring an end to the insurgency that ravages the northeast states of Borno, Adamawa and Yobe states in the last eleven years since the outbreak of the conflict.
Monguno is also hosting thousands of internally displaced persons, IDPs who were displaced from Marte, Baga, Kukawa, Dikwa and other surrounding local government areas.
There is no official confirmation of the attack as the time of filling this report.
