The Aren Eggon of Eggon Nation, Dr Bala Angbazo, has called on Nigerians to embrace peace and be their brothers’ keepers for development to thrive.
Angbazo made the appeal on Wednesday while playing host to Eggon community from Karu Local Government Area of the state, in his palace in Nassarawa Eggon Local Government Area.
The paramount ruler of Eggon nation, who was represented by Dan- Galadima Eggon, Dr James Angbazo, said that the importance of peaceful co-existence to societal development could not be over emphasised.
The first class traditional ruler appreciated them for the visit and urged them to continue to contribute their quota positively to the development of Eggon nation, the state and the country at large.
“I want to appreciate you for the visit and to assure you that Eggon traditional council will continue to promote peace amongst its subjects and other Nigerians.
“Importance of unity and peace to development of any society cannot be over emphasised.
“Peace is priceless and non-negotiable, and it is the necessary requirement for the development of any society,” he said.
Angbazo also enjoined the Eggon community in Karu to continue to respect the Karu traditional council in their interest and for the overall development of the area and the state at large.
He Nigerians to continue to be law abiding, respect constituted authorities and tolerate one another irrespective of their affiliations.
Earlier, Chief Aliku Adoji, the Wakili (representative) of Eggon community in Karu local government area, said that the visit was to receive the Aren Eggon blessings.
“I am also here to inform you on my appointment as Wakili Eggon, Karu, by the Karu traditional council under the leadership of Pharm. Luka Payam Baba, the Esu Karu.
“I want to use this medium to appreciate him for my appointment as Wakili Eggon in Karu and also for recognising Eggon community in his domain,” he said.
He congratulated the Aren Eggon for clocking 40 years on the throne and wished him good and sound health.
Adoji assured the first class traditional ruler of his loyalty and support at all times.
our correspondent reports that those in attendance included former President, Eggon Cultural and Development Association (ECDA), Mr James Manzah; and ECDA women wing leader, Karu Branch, Mrs Rifkatu Kuje.
The Chairman, Eggon Youth Movement (EYM), Karu Branch, Mr Istifanus Obadiah, among others, was also present.
