Comptroller Of Birth Registration Assures Of Maximum Success
By Sule ALIYU’ Bauchi
The Comptroller in charge of Ningi Local Government Area in Bauchi state in the on-going birth registration exercise in the state, Ibrahim Muhammad Isah has expressed optimism that the exercise will achieve 80 percent success.
Comptroller Isah, who hinged the success f the exercise to the high response the parents of children between 0 – 5 years of age are giving to the exercise, said that the turn-out is very encouraging.
Alhaji Ibrahim Isah, Sunday while explaining that the on-going birth registration exercise in Ningi is going on smoothly without hitches, also attributed its success to the awareness creation embarked upon prior to its commencement.
“The awareness campaign embarked upon preparatory t the commencement of the registration exercise has significantly contributed to its smooth conduct in Ningi Local Government Area of the state”, he said.
A monitor, Mamuda Yakubu Bujiyel whom reporters sought his opinion on the exercise, said that there has been a lot of progress in his centre where parents along with their wards have been trooping to register them.
Bujiyel said, “In almost all the centres we visited, we saw a lot of progress. We have eighteen wards but one hundred and seventy centres. We were made to understand that people were fully aware about this exercise and they gave us hundred percent support”.
According to him, from what they saw on ground, the conduct of the birth registration exercise is very encouraging, and expressed the hope that it would continue as such up the end of the exercise which is the sixteenth of this month.
The comptroller, also while conducting reporters round some of the registration centre in Ningi Township, was waylaid by one of the monitors, Haruna Adamu at Ningi East centre, who however said that he will not be able to register all the eligible children in the centre within the ten days period.
Registrar Haruna Adamu explained that for all eligible children in his centre to be registered, it requires a period of not less than one month as, according to him, the upsurge to the exercise is tumultuous.
It would be recalled that Governor Mohammed Abubakar last Thursday flagged-off the mass birth registration in the state aimed at collating data for development purposes.
The program is coming on the wheels of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the European Union, UNICEF and the Bauchi State Government.

Pius Akutah’s Alleged Fraud at Nigerian Shippers Council Uncovered
Investigations by Nigerian Concord Newspaper reveal that the Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Shippers Council, Mr. Pius Akutah, has allegedly misappropriated public funds for a lavish lifestyle.
According to our findings, within months of assuming office, Akutah allegedly purchased a bulletproof SUV valued at approximately N850 million. In addition, he is reported to have acquired over twenty exotic SUVs for use as a convoy.
Akutah is also said to have acquired multiple high-value properties, including three in Abuja’s Maitama and Asokoro districts worth over N2 billion, and two in Lagos’ Banana Island valued at N1.8 billion. These acquisitions appear far beyond the scope of his official salary and allowances.
Further investigation suggests that Akutah may be using public funds to support political ambitions, including allegedly grooming militants across 23 local government areas in Benue State for a potential 2027 gubernatorial bid.
Staff of the Shippers Council reportedly claim that Akutah frequently accesses the council’s treasury without proper authorization. Some insiders have indicated that a petition will soon be filed with the EFCC, ICPC, and the Presidency to report his alleged misconduct.
