Nollywood Actor Expresses Frustration Over Unpaid Fees and Exploitative Practices

An anonymous Nollywood actor has recently shared his disheartening experience in the industry in a viral online video. Speaking in Igbo during an interview with @skibocomedy7, the actor opened up about the meager pay he receives for his acting roles.
According to him, some of his colleagues engage in fraudulent practices, offering him jobs worth ten thousand Naira but only paying one thousand Naira upon completion, promising to transfer the remaining sum later. Unfortunately, the promised balance is never received.
The actor emphasized that this consistent exploitation pushed him to quit acting, as he observed that some producers and actors seemed indifferent to the well-being of their fellow movie stars who might be facing financial difficulties or hunger.
Furthermore, he accused his colleagues of earning millions from movie projects uploaded on YouTube channels while failing to compensate him adequately, especially for his contributions to those films.
He revealed that he often had to borrow money for his basic needs, including meals, and even to finance his trips to acting jobs. This unfair treatment and lack of consideration for his efforts eventually led him to give up on such exploitative roles.
The actor’s candid disclosure sheds light on the challenges faced by many individuals working in the Nigerian film industry, and the need for fair compensation and better working conditions in Nollywood.

Popular Nigerian disc jockey and billionaire heiress, DJ Cuppy, has opened up once again about her desire to get married.
