OGBE IJOH, ALADJA COMMUNITIES HOLD PEACE TALK IN OREROKPE

In view of the ongoing communal clash between Aladja in Udu Local Government Area and Ogbe-Ijoh in Warri South West Local Government of Delta State, Urhobo Traditional Rulers Council and Ijaw Traditional Rulers Forum have held a peace meeting to find a lasting solution.
The peace meeting was held at the weekend at the Palace of the Orodje of Okpe Kingdom in Orerokpe, headquarters of Okpe Local Government Area.
The Ijaw Forum of Traditional Rulers was led by its Chairman, HRM Elder Captain Joseph Timiyan. Other kings from both Urhobo and Ijaw nationalities were also present at the peace meeting.
After the meeting, the host and Chairman of Delta State Traditional Rulers Council and Orodje of Okpe Kingdom, HRM, Major Gen. Felix Mujakperuo (Rtd) Orhue 1, read out the communique of the meetings.
The communique noted that Aladja and Ogbe-Ijoh communities had no personal problems and were not at war with each other.
The traditional rulers, according to the communique, appealed to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori to urgently take actions towards finding a lasting peace between the two communities and provide more security in the affected areas.
The meeting called on the leadership of the affected communities to maintain peace and work on things that would promote peace and unity among the two communities, as well as ethnic nationalities.
Investigations by Nigerian Concord Newspaper reveal that the Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Shippers Council, Mr. Pius Akutah, has allegedly misappropriated public funds for a lavish lifestyle.
According to our findings, within months of assuming office, Akutah allegedly purchased a bulletproof SUV valued at approximately N850 million. In addition, he is reported to have acquired over twenty exotic SUVs for use as a convoy.
Akutah is also said to have acquired multiple high-value properties, including three in Abuja’s Maitama and Asokoro districts worth over N2 billion, and two in Lagos’ Banana Island valued at N1.8 billion. These acquisitions appear far beyond the scope of his official salary and allowances.
Further investigation suggests that Akutah may be using public funds to support political ambitions, including allegedly grooming militants across 23 local government areas in Benue State for a potential 2027 gubernatorial bid.
Staff of the Shippers Council reportedly claim that Akutah frequently accesses the council’s treasury without proper authorization. Some insiders have indicated that a petition will soon be filed with the EFCC, ICPC, and the Presidency to report his alleged misconduct.
