“We want the president and Bauchi state governor to continue their good work they started especially on the fight against insecurity, improving the economy”, they said.
The over 5,000 representatives of Fulani cattle breeders who gathered at Zaranda International Hotel venue of the event Bauchi Wednesday declared their support and called on President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar to both contest for a second term in 2019.
The state Chairman of the association, Alhaji Garba Saleh in his welcome address, said president Buhari having justified the mandate Nigerians bestowed on him in his first term and therefore that the mandate should be renewed for second term, “our president has brought progress and peace in Nigeria and this is one of the reasons we are endorsing him to contest for the second time”.
While urging Gov Abubakar to ensure the exploration of oil in Bauchi, the association also thanked President Buhari for appointing many Bauchi sons to top positions in his government.

He also informed that a research sponsored by his administration is ongoing in the state by a Chinese firm on special specie of grass that can grow anywhere which will be given to the Fulani for their animals”.
Besides, Bauchi state government will build earth dams across the state including boreholes, as according to him the plans for that effect is already in the 2018 state budget for the Fulani to water their cows.
Refuting claims that he is not of Fulani lineage, Gov. Abubakar traced his maternal history to the Fulani in Jahunawa, Nabayi in Bauchi and Akko, in Gombe state, and urged his Fulani kinsmen not to be misled by anybody but to consider him as one of them.
