Principal photography has wrapped up for ‘Broken Portrait,’ an upcoming Nigerian film delving into the repercussions of drug trafficking on a family’s dynamics.
Co-produced by Nuel Eyo Entertainment and Totori Factory, both based in Lagos, ‘Broken Portrait’ follows the narrative of Ivie Idahosa (31) and Bassey Enobong (33), a newly engaged couple.
According to a statement shared with Pulse Nigeria, the storyline unfolds as Bassey urges Ivie to introduce him to her family, despite her reluctance. The weekend visit takes an unexpected turn with the arrival of Osaze, fresh from rehab and struggling with his addiction. Tensions rise as Ivie and her family strive to support Osaze’s recovery amidst revelations of his ongoing struggles.
Directed by Richmond Amechi, who also serves as an executive producer, the film aims to shed light on the complexities of drug addiction within familial contexts. Written by Eyo Emmanuel, another executive producer, ‘Broken Portrait’ features a compelling cast including Teni Aladese, Ngozi Nwosu, Taye Arimoro, Gbubemi Ejeye, Floyd Igbo, and Eniola Jordan.
“’Broken Portrait’ is more than just a film; it’s a call for awareness and empathy,” remarked Richmond Amechi. “By telling this story, we hope to spark conversations about the ripple effects of drug addiction and inspire action to support affected families.”
