Sophia Momodu, the first baby mama of Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has officially responded to his custody lawsuit concerning their daughter, Aurora Imade Adeleke. Her legal team, led by Anthony Idigbe SAN of Punuka Attorney and Dr. Bimpe Ajegbomogun, has submitted a comprehensive 102-paragraph counter affidavit.
Davido recently filed a legal suit seeking joint custody and unrestricted access to their daughter, Imade. The case, listed as LD/1587PMC/2024, has Mr. David Adedeji Adeleke as the applicant and Ms. Sophia Momodu as the respondent, initiating their legal dispute over custody.
Davido claims he has consistently met his financial obligations towards Imade, but alleges that Sophia has made unreasonable demands to harass and frustrate him. He seeks a court order to ensure he can maintain an active role in Imade’s life through joint custody and unfettered access.
In response, Momodu’s legal team refutes these claims, asserting that Davido has not seen their daughter since July 2022. Momodu maintains that she has shouldered the responsibility for Imade alone over the past two years, while Davido falsely portrays himself as an engaged and supportive father on social media.
The next court hearing is scheduled for Friday, July 5 (today).
As this high-profile case unfolds, it highlights the complexities of co-parenting in the public eye and the challenges of celebrity custody battles. With both parties presenting sharply differing narratives, the court’s decision will be closely watched by fans and observers.
