Each year, the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) releases its Global Liveability Index, ranking 173 cities around the world from best to worst in terms of living conditions. The rankings are based on five key metrics: healthcare, culture, education, infrastructure, and the environment.
Lagos, Nigeria, was ranked 170th out of 173 cities, highlighting significant challenges in these areas.

- Calgary, Canada (tied with Geneva)
- Geneva, Switzerland (tie)

- Osaka, Japan (tied with Auckland)
- Auckland, New Zealand (tie)
- Adelaide, Australia
- Toronto, Canada
- Helsinki, Finland
