on

Celebrity journalist Stella Dimoko Korkus has reported that Bobrisky, who was jailed for six months in March 2024 for abusing Nigeria’s Naira, will be released on August 5, 2024. Despite reports of his imprisonment, Bobrisky has been enjoying certain privileges.

Korkus wrote on her Instagram page, “Cross-dresser Idris Olarewaju Oduneye, jailed for six months in March without the option of a fine for abusing Nigeria’s Naira, will be released from jail on August 5, 2024. It’s not as if he’s really in jail, as he has been enjoying internet time and call time, and has not been denied anything except that he cannot come out of where he is.”

Bobrisky Not Staying in One-Bedroom Flat

The Lagos State Command of the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) has clarified the conditions under which Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, is being held. Contrary to rumors suggesting Bobrisky was residing in a VIP apartment within the Kirikiri correctional facility, the NCoS has firmly refuted these claims.

In a statement released on Saturday, the spokesperson for the Lagos State Command, Rotimi Oladokun, clarified that Bobrisky is not receiving any special treatment and shares a cell with other convicted inmates. The correctional facility does not have en-suite or ‘one-bedroom flat’ style cells. The cell block infrastructure is designed to accommodate multiple inmates and does not support the provision of exclusive amenities for any individual.
