Lagos, Abia, Ebonyi, Akwa Ibom Get New Police Commissioners

The Police Service Commission (PSC) has appointed four new Commissioners of Police for the Lagos, Abia, Ebonyi, and Akwa Ibom State Commands. These appointments come in the wake of recent promotions of senior police officers, leading to vacancies in several state commands.

The newly appointed Commissioners are:

  • Isah Danladi Nda for Abia State Command,
  • Olarewaju Ishola Olawale for Lagos State Command,
  • Anthonia Adaku Uche Anya, fdc for Ebonyi State Command,
  • Miller Gajere Dantawaye for Akwa Ibom State Command.

Retired DIG Hashimu Argungu, Chairman of the PSC, urged the new Commissioners to prioritize improving security management in their respective states. He emphasized that the Commission would closely monitor their performance, urging them to immediately begin making an impact.

Argungu highlighted the importance of building a competitive, competent, and efficient police force, stressing that the PSC would continue to support the new appointees for optimal service delivery. He described the appointments as a call to greater dedication in serving the nation.

The approval for these postings was signed by the Secretary to the Commission, Onyemuche Nnamani, and has been forwarded to Inspector General of Police Olukayode Egbetokun for implementation.
