The Ogun State Police Command has arrested Michael Akinmolayan for allegedly raping a female neighbor and assaulting her with a grinding stone in the Sango-Ota area of the state.
According to Omolola Odutola, the command’s spokesperson, the victim’s brother, Ogundimu, reported the crime after being informed by neighbors of his sister’s condition.
Akinmolayan allegedly struck the victim on the head with a grinding stone, inflicting severe injuries. Police officers from the Sango-Ota Division promptly arrived at the scene, secured evidence including the blood-stained grinding stone, and took the victim to Banuso Clinic, Ota, for urgent medical care.
Odutola confirmed that a preliminary investigation is ongoing. The police are determined to bring the perpetrator to justice while ensuring the survivor receives necessary support.
