- As VC Assures Them Of Skills Acquisition, Moral Values

No fewer than 170 students have been matriculated across the 13 academic programmes at the
Muhammad Kamaludeen University (MKU), Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, with a charge to them to see their admission as a unique opportunity for personal growth, intellectual development and chance to contribute positively to the society.
The charge was given on Friday by the institution’s Pioneer Vice Chancellor, Professor Rasheed, who assured the matriculants of sound knowledge, skills and moral values needed to thrive in an increasingly dynamic world as they embark on the academic voyage in various disciplines, adding that they should consider themselves lucky to be admitted into the prestigious University.
The Matriculation Ceremony, according to the VC, marked another significant milestone in the history of the University as it welcomed the newest students into the academic Community, adding that the student population of the new institution has now risen to 135.
The Vice Chancellor announced that scholarships made available for the MKU students this year include the Barrister Abdulmumin Annafi Sogbo (SAN), the Abdulsalam Kutu Educational Foundation and Almahmood Centre for Arabic and Islamic Heritage, urging other well-meaning affluent individuals and corporate bodies to sponsor students to sustain the University
Declaring the Matriculation Ceremony open, the Pro Chancellor of the University, Professor Shuaib Oba Abdulraheem, x-rayed efforts galvanised for the smooth running of the University towards grooming younger ones to be self reliant
Professor Abdulraheem charged the matriculants to be focused, determined and avoid actions that could deter them from achieving academic excellence
The Matriculation Ceremony was laced with recitation of Qur’an, academic procession and administration of Matriculation Oath on the students by the Registrar of the University, Engineer Musa Mustapha Kamaldeen.
