MBAGBERA COMMUNITY CELEBRATES DR. MONGOL’S APPOINTMENT, THANKS GOVERNOR ALIA
The Mbagbera Development Association has celebrated one of their own, Dr. Erdoo Mongol-Aga, for her recent appointment as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Benue Geo Mining Company Ltd.
The celebration, which took place on Wednesday, 10th July, 2025, at Green Belt Hotel, Makurdi, brought together prominent sons and daughters of Mbagbara serving in the Alia administration, as well as members of Dr. Mongol’s immediate and extended family.
During the event, the Chairman of the occasion, Dr. Denis Akura (SA to the Governor on Economic Planning) stated that the celebration was organised to honour Dr. Mongol for her new role and to express their appreciation to the Executive Governor of Benue State, His Excellency, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, for appointing their daughter to such an important position.
Similarly, Tyoor, the traditional leader of the Mbagbera Community, Chief Baaki Emmanuel who doubled as rep of Ter Kunav, and Pastor Iorkase Mongol, father of the celebrant, also spoke during the event. They congratulated Dr. Mongol and emphasized that her dedication and commitment were beginning to yield good results.
In her response, Dr. Mongol thanked her people for the love and support shown to her. She expressed deep gratitude to Governor Hyacinth Alia for believing in her and giving her the opportunity to serve the state.
Reflecting on her journey, Dr. Mongol recalled her childhood and was particularly thankful to her uncle, Chattered Accountant Terhemba Tile Abume, and the rest of her mother’s family for playing a vital role in her academic foundation. She concluded by praying that God would bless them richly.
In attendance were several dignitaries, including Hon. Isaac Imoter Akaager (Advisor on LGA Market Coordination and Monitoring), Hon. Terfa Tsorkar (TA on Land Matters), Chief Mrs. Felicia Hoyo (Chairlady), Mr. Innocent Aga (husband of the celebrant), Hon. Chiga (GLO, Kwande), and Hon. John Agbaingya, among others.

Investigations by Nigerian Concord Newspaper reveal that the Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Shippers Council, Mr. Pius Akutah, has allegedly misappropriated public funds for a lavish lifestyle.
According to our findings, within months of assuming office, Akutah allegedly purchased a bulletproof SUV valued at approximately N850 million. In addition, he is reported to have acquired over twenty exotic SUVs for use as a convoy.
Akutah is also said to have acquired multiple high-value properties, including three in Abuja’s Maitama and Asokoro districts worth over N2 billion, and two in Lagos’ Banana Island valued at N1.8 billion. These acquisitions appear far beyond the scope of his official salary and allowances.
Further investigation suggests that Akutah may be using public funds to support political ambitions, including allegedly grooming militants across 23 local government areas in Benue State for a potential 2027 gubernatorial bid.
Staff of the Shippers Council reportedly claim that Akutah frequently accesses the council’s treasury without proper authorization. Some insiders have indicated that a petition will soon be filed with the EFCC, ICPC, and the Presidency to report his alleged misconduct.
