Kwara govt urges Christians, others to promote love, peace

Christians and adherents of other faiths in Kwara state have been admonished to promote love, peace and unity.

Deputy Governor Kayode Alabi made the call on Saturday at the 30th anniversary of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, Kwara State Chapter held at the Champions’ Church headquarters, Ilorin, the Kwara state capital.

Alabi, who also urged Christians to be of good character, added that such quality is the most critical attribute of a worthy life.

Stressing the need for Christians to be active in partisan politics at all levels to effect needed change, the Deputy Governor opined that politics should be more of service and competence than of monetary benefits.

Mr Alabi urged Christians to continue to pray for Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and his cabinet whose primary goal, he said, is to unveil a new dawn in Kwara State.

The state Chairman of PFN, Rev. T.O Opatola, acknowledged the need for a new beginning as everyone has missed it at one point or the other in life, saying God is offering Kwarans a fresh start, if they are ready to do His will. Rev Opatola appealed to all Christians to be committed to the spread of the gospel as they influence lives positively.

Special prayers, led by Revd. John Egbeniyi, were offered for the government and Kwara State.
