Adeleke Returns to School in Response to Opposition Attacks
Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, spoke at the Adeleke University’s convocation ceremonies, where he advised that age should not be a barrier to pursuing educational dreams. He revealed that one of the conditions set before his 2022 governorship ambition was to complete his education.
Adeleke shared that after facing intense personality attacks and assaults following his loss in the 2018 governorship election, he had to leave the country for his safety and to complete his degree program. His elder brother, Dr. Deji Adeleke, insisted that he must finish his education before pursuing his political aspirations.
Despite his age, Adeleke successfully re-enrolled and completed his degree program in the United States. He expressed pride in this achievement and thanked his family and friends for their unwavering support. Upon his return, he ran for re-election in 2022 as a newly graduated individual, and the rest is now history. Adeleke emphasized that age should never hinder educational pursuits and that commitment and passion are key to success.
Dr. Deji Adeleke, the founder of the university, also addressed the audience and called on Nigerians to contribute to nation-building rather than solely blaming those in positions of authority. He highlighted the potential for positive change if Nigerians unite in their efforts to improve the country.
Investigations by Nigerian Concord Newspaper reveal that the Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Shippers Council, Mr. Pius Akutah, has allegedly misappropriated public funds for a lavish lifestyle.
According to our findings, within months of assuming office, Akutah allegedly purchased a bulletproof SUV valued at approximately N850 million. In addition, he is reported to have acquired over twenty exotic SUVs for use as a convoy.
Akutah is also said to have acquired multiple high-value properties, including three in Abuja’s Maitama and Asokoro districts worth over N2 billion, and two in Lagos’ Banana Island valued at N1.8 billion. These acquisitions appear far beyond the scope of his official salary and allowances.
Further investigation suggests that Akutah may be using public funds to support political ambitions, including allegedly grooming militants across 23 local government areas in Benue State for a potential 2027 gubernatorial bid.
Staff of the Shippers Council reportedly claim that Akutah frequently accesses the council’s treasury without proper authorization. Some insiders have indicated that a petition will soon be filed with the EFCC, ICPC, and the Presidency to report his alleged misconduct.
