Popular comedian Ayo Makun, widely known as AY, has filed a petition with the Delta State Police Command, alleging “criminal defamation and cyberstalking” against a Facebook user identified as Agozi Samuel. The petition claims that Agozi Samuel, operating under the Facebook account “Agozi Comedy,” accused AY of having an extramarital affair with May Edochie, the wife of actor Yul Edochie, leading to a marital crisis.
AY disclosed the incident on his Facebook account, emphasizing the need for individuals to take responsibility for their actions on social media. The petition, dated January 24, 2024, and filed by AY’s lawyers, addresses the four-minute, thirty-two-second video posted on Agozi’s Facebook page, where false and baseless statements were made to generate traffic and gain popularity.
The petition outlines the deliberate attempt by Agozi to spread misinformation, causing annoyance, insult, enmity, and public outrage against AY and his family. Allegations in the video claim AY’s involvement in an extramarital affair with May Edochie, leading to the separation of Yul Edochie and his wife.
AY, through his lawyers, has requested the police to arrest, investigate, and prosecute Agozi for the coordinated and malicious publication. The comedian expressed frustration with the continuous spread of false information and emphasized that he would no longer tolerate such acts designed to harm his career, ambitions, and relationships.
