Ayu: Northern Group Cautions South/west PDP Leaders
By: Politics Editor
In apparent reaction to the calls for the resignation of the National Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Dr Iyorchia Ayu, by South-West leaders of the party, a group under the auspices of the Northern PDP Elders’ Support Group has cautioned against possible implosion of the party.
Rising from their meeting in Kaduna on Thursday, the group called on their South/West counterparts to avoid rocking the boat.
While advising them not to become tools being used to overheat the polity, they also cautioned against falling preys to the conspiracy against the PDP in the buildup to the 2023 elections.
The Northern group called for a peaceful and more amicable way of ending the ongoing campaign seeking the removal of the National Chairman of the party, Dr. Iyorchia Ayu.
The statement called on all the stakeholders to sheath their swords for PDP to progress and unite ahead of inauguration of the Atiku/Okowa Presidential Campaign Council.
National Coordinator of the group, Dr. Nasiru Aliyu Sadauki said in the statement that members, stakeholders and goodwill ambassadors of the Atiku/Okowa group, are getting set for Community Based Mobilisation and presentation of manual and guide for Atiku/Okowa campaign support groups, but needs a peaceful atmosphere to do so..
He said, there innitiative is aimed encouraging each other for effective enlightenment and on-the-spot awareness in selected states in the North.
According to Sadauki, the party leaders should face important issues facing the economy , insecurity, poverty, educational crisis and other challenges that are threatening Nigeria national unity rather than the minor issue of removing the chairman of their party.
“There are issue on ground that need leaders to make sacrifice, offer solutions and relief to the public. No sensible party supporter will promote and seek Ayu’s exit in this time of expected cooperation, unity and understanding in the party”, Sadauki noted.
“Nigerians are tired of such media display of arrogance by certain groups of political elites in the country. Let us face issues and rebuke or disregard any political class which is more interested in seeking public sympathy rather than act to help rebuild the nation”.
“We wake up daily with news of unpleasant happenings in the country especially the killings, maiming and kidnapping of our fellow Nigerians including women and children which the All Progressives Congress (APC)’ led government has failed to nip in the bud”
“It is rather surprising that , our party members are talking about “Ayu must go” and “South will not agree” which are mundane issues that could be resolved amicably behind curtains, ad not the more serious need to remove an incompetent government”, he added..
The statement further noted that, the PDP crisis is more of a setup, intended to destroy every good and positive transformation of the Ayu-led National Working Committee (NWC) of the party, and those fanning the embers of disunity, cohesion and progress of PDP are doing so to create confusion that may make Nigerians to reconsider APC.
The group leader said, they are bothered with the raging controversy in the PDP, hence the need to call on the PDP supporters within and outside the country to unite and support the leadership of the party under Dr. Iyorchia Ayu to collectively rescue and rebuild Nigeria from the ruins of APC leadership.
“The inability of APC led government to resolve the lingering issue of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) alone is enough to see the reason for all of us to work together with the party leadership to ensure APC is sent packing in 2023, Sadauki said.
The statement also called on the Ayu-led National Executive Council (NEC) to immediately swing into action to unite the party before the commencement of the campaign to ensure we offer greater hope for the survival of Nigeria ahead of the 2023 elections, as the PDP remains hopeful in the face of all the controversies.

Pius Akutah’s Alleged Fraud at Nigerian Shippers Council Uncovered
Investigations by Nigerian Concord Newspaper reveal that the Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Shippers Council, Mr. Pius Akutah, has allegedly misappropriated public funds for a lavish lifestyle.
According to our findings, within months of assuming office, Akutah allegedly purchased a bulletproof SUV valued at approximately N850 million. In addition, he is reported to have acquired over twenty exotic SUVs for use as a convoy.
Akutah is also said to have acquired multiple high-value properties, including three in Abuja’s Maitama and Asokoro districts worth over N2 billion, and two in Lagos’ Banana Island valued at N1.8 billion. These acquisitions appear far beyond the scope of his official salary and allowances.
Further investigation suggests that Akutah may be using public funds to support political ambitions, including allegedly grooming militants across 23 local government areas in Benue State for a potential 2027 gubernatorial bid.
Staff of the Shippers Council reportedly claim that Akutah frequently accesses the council’s treasury without proper authorization. Some insiders have indicated that a petition will soon be filed with the EFCC, ICPC, and the Presidency to report his alleged misconduct.
