Benue Assembly Lift’s Suspension Of 2 Members

Benue State House of Assembly presided over by the speaker Aondona Dajo during plenary Tuesday, lifted the suspension of member representing Konshisha state constituency Cephas Dyako and that of Makurdi- South Douglas Akya accused of disrupting proceedings.

The three months suspension was lifted following a motion moved by the member representing Tarka state constituency Manger Manger.

The Tarka state constituency member Manger- Manger had requested the house to do the needful and argued that the two members have shown remorse for their actions and inactions, adding that the two Assembly members have equally promised to remain good team players in conducting house business.

Seconding the motion, a member representing Gwer- West Solomon Gila, appealed that the suspension of the two lawmakers be lifted for them to return to the House and represent their constituencies.

Ruling the speaker Aondona Dajo said the suspended members had no personal issues with any member, arguing that the action on them by members was a collective decision and accordingly lifted the suspension.
