Confusion in Taraba Assembly as two different persons with Similar names appear for Commissioners screening

It was confusion galore at the Taraba State House of Assembly on Wednesday when two different persons bearing same names, Daniel Ishaya, being one of the list of Commissioner nominees from IBI LGA sent to the Assembly by the Governor of the State, Dr. Agbu Kefas both appeared for screening.
The whole drama ensued at the Assembly premises in Jalingo, when the two different persons with the name, Daniel Ishaya, both from IBI local government area drove in motorcade with their supporters to the Assembly for screening as commissioner representing the local government.
Our correspondent reports that the Assembly premises was full of life as supporters of both Daniel Ishaya were seen jubillating and dancing to the defendant tones of their traditional musics.
What makes the entire drama more interesting ithe fact that the two Daniel Ishaya are both of the Jukun tribe and from IBI local government.
The tones of the music from supporters of the two Ishayas however went down later when the law maker representing IBI State constituency in the Assembly, Hon. Zakari Sanusi invited the two Ishayas to his office in order to ascertain the true Daniel Ishaya norminated to be screened to represent the local government as Commissioner.
It was gathered that the two Ishayas presented First degree certificates which is one of the requirements for nomination as Commissioner by Governor Agbu Kefas.
After serious scrutiny, it was discovered that one of the Ishayas acquired Bsc Education while the other acquired Bsc Agriculture.
Further scrutiny shows that the Daniel Ishaya with Bsc Education and which his educational qualification as well as course of study appeared on the nomination list submitted to the Assembly, finally won the battle and was screened by the lawmakers.
Investigations by Nigerian Concord Newspaper reveal that the Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Shippers Council, Mr. Pius Akutah, has allegedly misappropriated public funds for a lavish lifestyle.
According to our findings, within months of assuming office, Akutah allegedly purchased a bulletproof SUV valued at approximately N850 million. In addition, he is reported to have acquired over twenty exotic SUVs for use as a convoy.
Akutah is also said to have acquired multiple high-value properties, including three in Abuja’s Maitama and Asokoro districts worth over N2 billion, and two in Lagos’ Banana Island valued at N1.8 billion. These acquisitions appear far beyond the scope of his official salary and allowances.
Further investigation suggests that Akutah may be using public funds to support political ambitions, including allegedly grooming militants across 23 local government areas in Benue State for a potential 2027 gubernatorial bid.
Staff of the Shippers Council reportedly claim that Akutah frequently accesses the council’s treasury without proper authorization. Some insiders have indicated that a petition will soon be filed with the EFCC, ICPC, and the Presidency to report his alleged misconduct.
