As efforts to curb the spread of COVID 19 Virus continue, the national leadership of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, on Wednesday donated hand sanitizers,washing soaps, buckets and receptors containers to the
Nigeria Union of Journalists(NUJ), Edo State Council and Edo State government

ASUU national president also commended the Vice Chancellor of the University of Benin (UNIBEN), Prof Lilian Salami and her management team for the support received from the university following the robust relationship between the University and its members working in the laboratories to produce hand sanitizers and other items for covid-19 intervention.
Ogunyemi represented by Prof. Fred Asumeh, Zonal Coordinator, ASUU, Benin Zone, while presenting the items to the government at the government house in Benin, said the gesture is to assist government and the people in fight against the dreaded corona virus disease in the state
Biodun who emphasized the need to safeguard the health of Nigerians following the outbreak of the disease said the fight against the pandemic must be seen as a collective one and not to be left for the government alone.
Receiving the donation on behalf of Edo state government, Secretary to State Government, Osarodion Ogie expressed appreciation to ASUU noting that the country is in a critical state which demands that all hands must be on deck to end the spread of the disease.
