Dogara felicitates with Sarkin Sudan at 80

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Yakubu Dogara has felicitated with the Sarkin Sudan of Wurno, Ambassador Alhaji Shehu Malami on the occasion of his 80th Birthday.
In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Public Affairs, Turaki Hassan, the Speaker described the octogenarian as an accomplished diplomat and respected national statesman who has distinguished himself in many fields of human endeavors.
“Sir, at 80 years, your life is a very rich book of accomplishments having played prominent roles in the political and constitutional development of Nigeria for decades. A quintessential diplomat, astute businessman, your footprints litter the boardroom of Nigeria’s private sector.”
“You remain one of the few of your generation to have received series of accolades in your lifetime; the Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON) “who is who in Nigeria”, as well as “who is who in the world” your accomplishments do not suffer any territorial barriers.”
While wishing Ambassador Shehu Malami a hearty 80th Birthday anniversary, Dogara also prayed God to grant the elder statesman more years of good health and wisdom.
“On behalf of the Honourable Members of the House of Representatives as well as my family, I wish to join millions of your admirers and well wishers around the world, to most heartily felicitate with you on this very glorious occasion of your 80th Birthday Celebrations”, he added.
Investigations by Nigerian Concord Newspaper reveal that the Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Shippers Council, Mr. Pius Akutah, has allegedly misappropriated public funds for a lavish lifestyle.
According to our findings, within months of assuming office, Akutah allegedly purchased a bulletproof SUV valued at approximately N850 million. In addition, he is reported to have acquired over twenty exotic SUVs for use as a convoy.
Akutah is also said to have acquired multiple high-value properties, including three in Abuja’s Maitama and Asokoro districts worth over N2 billion, and two in Lagos’ Banana Island valued at N1.8 billion. These acquisitions appear far beyond the scope of his official salary and allowances.
Further investigation suggests that Akutah may be using public funds to support political ambitions, including allegedly grooming militants across 23 local government areas in Benue State for a potential 2027 gubernatorial bid.
Staff of the Shippers Council reportedly claim that Akutah frequently accesses the council’s treasury without proper authorization. Some insiders have indicated that a petition will soon be filed with the EFCC, ICPC, and the Presidency to report his alleged misconduct.
