Ehime Mbano Attack: Uzodimma Grants N185 Million to Families of Slain Security Officers

Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State has provided financial support to the families of security officers who were affected by an attack in Ehime Mbano Council area in September 2023. The governor gave a total of N185 million to over eleven families of the deceased and injured security personnel.

The affected officers included those from different security agencies, such as NDELA, NSCDC, Nigerian Air Force, and the Nigerian Police. Governor Uzodimma, in an emotional address, expressed his appreciation for the sacrifices made by security agents to protect the citizens of the state. He prayed for the families of those who lost their lives and wished a quick recovery to those injured in the attack.

Governor Uzodimma highlighted the severity of the security situation in Imo State and acknowledged that the compensation was an opportunity to appreciate the invaluable work done by security agencies. He emphasized that the state government would continue to support the families of affected officers and provide assistance to boost the morale of security personnel.

The governor also announced the disbursement of N185 million to those affected by the incident, acknowledging the various compensation plans in place by the Federal Government and security agencies. The financial support aims to help the families cope with the loss and encourage security agencies to continue their duties without fear or discouragement.
