Food Security Boost: Gov AbdulRazaq Launches Farm Input Distribution to 10,000 Farmers

Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has initiated the distribution of improved seeds, chemicals, and fertilizers to 10,000 farmers across the state’s 16 local government areas for this farming season.

Governor AbdulRazaq stated that this initiative is part of his administration’s efforts to ensure a bountiful harvest and enhance food security in both the state and the country. The government has recently targeted 600,000 households, including small-scale farmers, in its distribution of farm implements and other agricultural supports.

During the launch of the third batch of farm input distribution in Ilorin, the governor emphasized the critical role of farmers in ensuring food security and fostering sustainable economic growth. “This administration is committed to addressing the challenges in the agricultural sector. Farmers are recognized as the backbone of food security and economic growth. Hence, a rigorous farmer registration process has been set up, ensuring that only genuine farmers benefit,” AbdulRazaq stated.

The program underscores the government’s dedication to supporting the agricultural sector and its pivotal role in the state’s economic development.
