Gov. Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa says his administration is committed to tackling the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic in the country.
This, he said on Tuesday, was evident in different measures adopted by the state government in containing the spread of the pandemic.
Sule stated this when he paid an on-the-spot visit to Shabu Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camp in Lafia.
He said the state government has established many isolation centres across the three senatorial districts with a promise to establish more, hence the need for the visit.
He said that the state government also planned to establish isolation centre in Shabu-Lafia, hence the need for the visit to ascertain the nature of the structure of the IDPs camp.
“Our government is committed towards tackling the spread of COVID-19 pandemic in the country.
“We have established isolation centres across the state with a view of containing the spread of this pandemic.
“I am also here to look at this structure which was built initially as IDPs camp with the view of making it an isolation centre.
“We are doing our best to ensure the safety of our people and other Nigerians and this is because a healthy nation is a wealthy nation,” the governor said.
Sule said that his administration would continue to remain resolute in adopting measures toward containing the effect of the pandemic on the people of the state.
He urged residents of the state and Nigerians at large to continue to adhere strictly to the preventive measures against the virus in their own interest and for the overall development of the country.
