Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State has formally presented an appointment letter to Muhammadu Sanusi II, reinstating him as the Emir of Kano. Addressing the reinstated Emir at the Government House on Friday, Governor Yusuf emphasized that the amended law governing the emirate has been solidified.

“In accordance with the newly amended law, I am honored to present the letter of appointment to Sanusi Muhammadu Sanusi II,” Governor Yusuf stated. He underscored the permanence of the law, asserting that it cannot be altered.

“Yesterday, after extensive consultations with the kingmakers, members of the House of Assembly, and security authorities, we ratified the new law, nullifying all previous appointments of former emirs, district heads, and other officials made by the previous administration,” he explained.

Governor Yusuf reiterated that the law was enacted to reinstate the former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), expressing belief that Sanusi was unjustly treated by the preceding administration.

In extending congratulations to the 16th emir, Governor Yusuf urged Sanusi to leverage his extensive experience and wisdom to restore the eminence of the Kano emirate.
