Governor Fubara Attributes Edison Ehie’s Resignation as Speaker to Pursuit of Peace and Stability

Governor Sim Fubara of Rivers State clarified the motive behind Edison Ehie’s resignation as the Speaker of the State’s House of Assembly during an event in Port Harcourt. Governor Fubara addressed an audience that included former state governor Peter Odili and his wife, Mary, stating that Ehie’s decision to step down was a strategic move aimed at promoting peace and stability in the state. He emphasized that the resignation was not driven by personal gain or power but rather reflected the leadership’s commitment to the well-being of the people. The formalized resignation letter was dated December 29, 2023, and addressed to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
